Walking The Cats
Most people don’t seem to take their cats for a walk. Especially off the lead. Or even believe it’s possible to do so.
Since we’ve had Beta and Gamma we’ve made a point of regularly walking them. Sometimes it has just been around the local neighborhood, some times it’s been in the desert wilderness or even climbing mountains. Two factors mainly made this possible. Training from a young age, walking them when it’s quiet, usually late evening. The trick is making sure other people are not generally about. The cats are generally easily distracted or spooked.
Gamma is a Pretty Long Haired Cat But…
He gets cranky though when his thick fur gets all tangled up. Also in the summer, he struggles to keep it clean.
So we regularly take him to a groomer to have it all cut off. They cut his hair and give him a bath, so he comes back smelling pretty like a girl. Once all that fur is gone he gets a major burst of energy and will become much more active. Sometimes though he does take the opportunity to roll in the dirt. Fundamentally I don’t think he likes smelling, well shall we say, uncat-like.
Gamma just loves it when he gets rid of all that fur. He becomes twice as active. We get him a hair cut at least twice a year.
Like any little boy though, Gamma just loves rolling in the dirt. And seems to make a point of doing it right after a bath and a haircut.
Both Beta and Gamma Seem to Like Having Their Own Personal Spots.
Gamma sometimes tries to claim the oddest places to claim as his. Some some odd reason he loved to climb ladders.
Well, One Thing We Can Say For Sure About Cats, They Take Nap Time Very Seriously
